Upon acceptance of the application, the student is required to pay a non-refundable confirmation of enrollment deposit. This amount will be credited to the student’s account as a down payment on tuition. The confirmation deposit amount for the 2010-11 school year is $200.
A second deposit of $800 is due by July 9th, 2010. Make sure you have paid the full $1000 deposit by the due date because it reserves your spot in the Kaléo program. A late payment will mean that you risk the chance of someone else bumping you from your spot in the program.
Kaleo program fees are:
- Tuition - $7,656
- Room and board - $6,779
- Fees - $1,335
- Total - $15,970 (approx. $16,225 if you include the cost of textbooks)
Student Loans
Students are able to get student loans for the Kaléo program. You can use a student loan to help pay for tuition, books, room and board, and personal expenses. If you are eligible, Canada Student Loans are the best kind, as they do not charge interest during your education. Check out the student loan page on the Briercrest College website for detailed information. Contact the Admissions office if you need further help understanding how to apply for loans.
U.S. Students
You may be eligible for U.S.-based financial assistance. Stafford Loans, Subsidized, Unsubsidized, PLUS Loans, and Veterans Administration Grants are all available for study in Canada. Pell grants cannot be used. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov for more information or call the Admissions office (1-800-667-5199).
* Student loan centres take 6-8 weeks to process your application if there are no errors or omissions.
International Students Financial Requirements (NOT applicable to U.S. students)
Prospective students requiring a study permit to attend Briercrest College and Seminary will be considered for admission only if they can meet the requirements of a financial guarantee for themselves and all dependents that will be accompanying them to Canada. This will be done by:
- Depositing to Briercrest College and Seminary sufficient funds to cover tuition, living expenses, and other school fees for the student and family for the first year of their studies.
- Depositing to Briercrest College and Seminary $2,500 per person to cover return air transportation to the student's country of origin.
NOTE: These amounts will be held on deposit at the school until needed for their intended purpose. Payment of these amounts should be made in Canadian funds and are only payable by wire transfer, certified cheque, MasterCard, or Visa.
Payment Plans
Payment for each semester is due in full at check-in for that semester. If this is not possible, students are permitted to enter into one of two other payment plan agreements: "The 25% Plan" or "The 50% Plan."
"The 25% Plan" allows students to pay the semester’s tuition and room and board in four payments. The first payment is due at registration. The remaining three payments are due on September 30, October 30, and November 30. A $50 fee per semester will be added to the student’s invoice at registration; however, no other interest fees are charged if payments are submitted on time.
"The 50% Plan" allows students to pay for their semester in three payments: 50% at registration, 25% on September 30, and the final 25% on October 30. No additional charges apply to this payment option; however, interest will be charged on overdue payments.
Setting up a payment plan is easy and can be done at check-in. To ensure prompt payments on due dates, students can set up pre-authorized payments. Providing us with the necessary banking information for pre-authorized debit, credit card information, or post-dated cheques can ensure that the student’s account is paid on schedule.
