International Students
U.S. Students
Once you are accepted into the college, we will send you a border crossing checklist and a "student info" form for the Immigration officer. The checklist will tell you what you need to have before you cross the border. The "student info" form will help the officer determine when your student authorization should expire. The processing fee is $125 (Canadian). This whole process takes place when you arrive in Canada—either at the airport when you go through Canada Customs or at any port of entry if you are driving. As long as you are a student in British Columbia, you may keep your driver's license from your home state. Contact the Admissions office for more information.
Students Outside Canada and the U.S.
International students are required to show proof of funding as part of their application/acceptance process. You will be required to deposit an amount into the Briercrest bank account, which covers your room & board, tuition, damage deposit, textbooks and return airfare deposit. It is government policy that we ask you to deposit $2500 return airfare deposit. If you do not need to use it, it will be credited back to you at the end of the school year. Upon application, you will receive a document by email with Briercrest's banking information. An acceptance letter will be issued to you once we have reviewed your application and the funding has been successfully received in our bank account. You will need this in order to obtain a student visa.
