Student Life

Daily Schedule

There is no typical schedule for the Kaléo program. Some weeks you are in class, others you are out-tripping, doing ministry or working on assignments. Each year of Kaléo is a little different, but you can click on these links for a look at a past year's schedule: Fall 2009Spring 2010.

Chapels

Most weekdays we come together as a student community to worship God and hear from one another, telling our stories and encouraging, challenging and praying for one another. There is some opportunity for leading the group in worship or speaking to the community from the word of God.

Student Events

Some student events are regularly scheduled, such as a gym night, trip to town or a worship time. Others are special events and are most often planned and run by small groups of students. We consider the year of Kaléo a "media fast," which frees up much time for fun and conversation instead of watching movies or paying video games; however, we occasionally watch a movie or game together. Other events give students opportunity to reach out into the community and make a difference, such as talking with the homeless or visiting seniors in an Alzheimer's home.

Kaléo Leadership Team

The Kaléo program is led directly by a team of four Qwanoes staff members. The leaders of the Kaléo Program are a gifted and experienced team who have a deep love for God, serving in ministry, academics, adventure and developing young people into solid Christian leaders. They are part of the larger year-round Qwanoes staff team which combines a variety of gifts and years of ministry experience plus a common desire to help people discover, live and share like no other. The students in the Kaléo program will be challenged, encouraged, and blessed in many ways by this team.
